Maisha Roots is an NGO that combines the efforts of two entities, a Spanish one (Maisha Roots Spain) and a Tanzanian one (FYWCO), with the common goal of fostering development in Tanzania. Its origins are found in the local decision of establishing a prosperous community to achieve the development of the community where we work. In Arusha, Tanzania, the projects are developed and from Spain we are working to achieve the dissemination network and media that ensure us the pursuit of our objective.

Sensibilisierung der Gemeinde für die Wichtigkeit von Vorsorgeuntersuchungen und in einem Gesundheitszentrum zu gebären. Ausbildung von Hebammen, Versorgung der ländlichen Gesundheitszentren und des Krankenhauses von Gambo mit nötigem Material für Entbindungen und deren Komplikationen sowie Krankentransporte.

Im Süden Äthiopiens, in einer ländlichen Region mit sehr geringen wirtschaftlichen Ressourcen, befindet sich das Gambo-Missionskrankenhaus. Es bietet allen Einwohnern der Region erschwingliche Gesundheitsversorgung und nimmt selbst die ärmsten Menschen aus entlegenen Gebieten auf. Die Bevölkerung leidet unter schwerer Unterernährung, Dehydration, Malaria, Tuberkulose, AIDS, Lungenentzündung, Meningitis usw. Und Kinder sind am stärksten gefährdet und am häufigsten betroffen.

This is a sanctuary to help abused & abandoned horses and other species. Live 64 equines and other animals in the sanctuary. The approximate cost per horse per month is 120 euros if they are in good health; if there are not, the amount can go up to a few hundreds of euros and even thousands. Asociación Índigo trabaja para la población infantil más vulnerable de Isla Mfangano (Kenia), una comunidad rural donde la tasa de abandono infantil es elevadísima y gran parte de la población sufre de malnutrición, SIDA, malaria o tifus, especialmente los más vulnerables: los niños. Índigo trabaja activamente creando una comunidad para ofrecer a los más pequeños acceso a educación, un hogar, un programa de renutrición, sanidad completa para todos ellos, herramientas para el futuro y mucho amor.

Ainara nació el 21 de noviembre de 2015, a las 10:03h. Pesó 1,030kg. Estuvo a punto de morir 2 veces y tuvo que pasar sus primeros 5 meses de vida en el hospital. Ainara tiene atrofia cerebral, epilepsia, hipotiroidismo, hipotonia (falta de tono muscular), su cuerpo no fabrica cortisol ni hormona del crecimiento y padece un retraso psicomotor severo. Ainara realiza fisioterapia en casa para intentar que consiga llegar lo más lejos posible pero necesita tu ayuda para continuar. ¿La ayudas?

Alba is an inteligent funny and amusing girl. Although we well could say “was”, as a terrible tragic accident happened on fateful march 21st 2016. A relative, who was in a shock due to an epileptic attack, let Alba fall from a third floor. Alba saved her life, but a strong brain damage remains on her. Now, we have a long neurorehabilitation process left ahead to see how much she can recover and become herself again a bit. Help us!

Hola, soy Hugo Dato. Un mal diagnóstico pediátrico durante el confinamiento me causó un infarto y una lesión cerebral con tan sólo 15 meses. Ahora lucho por volver a ser el que era. Sin embargo, la seguridad social apenas cubre mis tratamientos de rehabilitación, y por eso mis papás están llevando a cabo esta campaña de recaudación de fondos. ¿Me ayudas?

Soy Xana, tengo 14 años, y soy maravillosa, pero como todo no puede ser perfecto, tengo Parálisis cerebral, y llevo una traqueotomía para respirar, y una válvula para la hidrocefalia. Pase un año en la UCI, y por todo eso aún no hablo, pero soy muy peleona, así que seguiré luchando! Mis padres han creado este grupo, para poder costear las terapias que necesito que son muchas! Jimena es una niña de 2 añitos con una enfermedad rara, llamada síndrome de Angelman. Este síndrome afecta a 1 de cada 20.000 nacimientos. Su pronóstico es muy duro, con dificultad para caminar, ausencia del lenguaje, retraso metal, hiperactividad y epilepsia entre otros trastornos. A día de hoy no existe cura, y en el 95% de los casos la causa es puro azar. Para paliar todo esto se precisan costosas horas de rehabilitación y terapia, además de la adaptación de elementos utilizados a diario.

Jorge sufrió una transfusión feto-fetal de su hermano gemelo Cristian a las 36 semanas de embarazo, lo que le produjo una anemia severa. Cristian no tuvo tanta suerte y murió. Tras 17 días en la UCI, parecía que Jorge iba evolucionando bien, pero con el tiempo le diagnosticaron una parálisis cerebral. Desde entonces le hemos estado ayudando con muchas terapias y aparatos ortopédicos. Tenemos un sueño: que pueda andar. ¿Nos ayudas a hacerlo posible con 1€/mes?
