Ya está en marcha la construcción de la biblioteca de El Aaiún. A CADASIL é uma doença hereditária rara que provoca a oclusão das pequenas artérias cerebrais, com acidentes vasculares cerebrais recorrentes e demência numa idade precoce (por volta dos 50 anos). Não existe cura, mas uma equipa de investigação do Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (Barcelona) vai iniciar um ensaio clínico para ver se os tratamentos já existentes no mercado podem ajudar a retardar esta doença incapacitante.
