As hungry people continue to flee the atrocities committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El Fasher, our teams are providing urgent care to those who have managed to reach the town of Tawila. There, we are witnessing extreme levels of acute malnutrition, the most serious example to date of the nutritional crisis that has been ravaging Sudan since the start of the war.

In Sudan, Médecins Sans Frontières provides emergency medical care to displaced people arriving in critical condition. Our teams have reinforced the emergency unit and paediatric and nutrition services. We continue to assess humanitarian and medical needs in the region, ready to respond to the arrival of more injured or malnourished people. Médecins Sans Frontières has been working in Sudan since 1979 and currently provides medical and humanitarian assistance in various states across the country. In North Darfur, our teams provide emergency medical care, therapeutic nutrition, maternal and child health care, and psychological support to people displaced by the conflict. We are an independent medical-humanitarian organisation, and our activities in Sudan are funded exclusively by private donations, which guarantees our total independence and neutrality.
