The sanitary situation generated due to COVID-19 has worsen an already complex situation: in Spain 40% of people under 25 are unemployed and 17,3% of youth dropped out from school early, the worst numbers of the EU. Now the future of young people looks quite difficult, especially amongst those who live in a situation of social vulnerability.

Did you know that 5,000 people get sick with leukaemia each year in Spain, which is the most common childhood cancer, and that despite the progress made, we still lose one in four minors and half of adults? At the Josep Carreras Foundation we have been working for more than 30 years to make leukaemia a 100% curable disease, to find 100% compatible donors for everyone, and to make displaced patients feel at home. The Humanitarian Maritime Rescue Association (SMH) is an NGO that defends the life and human rights of displaced people. Our main tool is the Aita Mari ship, with which we help people who go to sea in search of survival. More or less €20,000 is the amount it costs us to fill the ship's fuel tanks. Al Sur de Etiopía, en una región rural y con muy pocos recursos económicos, se encuentra el Hospital de Gambo, hospital misionero que ofrece asistencia sanitaria a todos los habitantes de la región e incluso recibe a las personas más pobres de zonas alejadas al tratarse de uno de los hospitales más baratos del país. La población padece desnutrición severa, deshidratación, malaria, tuberculosis, sida, neumonía, meningitis, y son los niños la población más vulnerable y afectada.

12 years of war in Syria have left millions of victims and 5.5 million refugees. Since then, donations have been made in this group to assist them through harsh winters without heating or during the pandemic. Child-Help is the result of solidarity between people confronted with spina bifida and/ or hydrocephalus in the Global North and their counterparts in the Global South. Child-Help developed as an offshoot of the International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (IF). Peers know how complex it is to take care for a child with a congenital disability and to prepare him or her to lead a full and independent life.

Since the beginning of the conflict, we created this group to help Ukrainian people who were affected by the war. Now, through the Red Cross, we support people who were forced to flee and have arrived in Spain. But also to those who stayed in the country by sending humanitarian aid and social assistance on the ground through the same entity.

Every year, more than three million children under the age of five die from malnutrition or malnutrition-related causes worldwide. Our main challenge is to treat as many children with severe acute malnutrition as possible, particularly in unstable or conflict-affected contexts. We will dedicate your contributions to the most urgent projects.

The SJD Pediatric Center is the first monographic centre for paediatric oncology in Spain (2nd in Europe). 70% of the centre is devoted to care and 30% to research. It has the capacity to care for 400 children and youngsters. Its spaces are designed with the emotional well-being of the children and their families in mind. Our aim is that the children have more options to overcome cancer with less after-effects. Your euro helps to carry out the humanisation programmes and new treatments. Will you join us?

Ainara nació el 21 de noviembre de 2015, a las 10:03h. Pesó 1,030kg. Estuvo a punto de morir 2 veces y tuvo que pasar sus primeros 5 meses de vida en el hospital. Ainara tiene atrofia cerebral, epilepsia, hipotiroidismo, hipotonia (falta de tono muscular), su cuerpo no fabrica cortisol ni hormona del crecimiento y padece un retraso psicomotor severo. Ainara realiza fisioterapia en casa para intentar que consiga llegar lo más lejos posible pero necesita tu ayuda para continuar. ¿La ayudas?
