Guzmán is a boy with a rare disease: Hyper-IgM syndrome, an immunodeficiency that weakens his immune system. On 25/09/2024 he received a bone marrow transplant in Barcelona. We are a family from Spain. Our son Mateo, has a genetic mutation in the NEK8 gene, considered ultra rare, that is damaging his organs. When he was 9 months old, he had a liver transplant and when he was 3 years old, a kidney transplant. In a future he could need a heart transplant, also.
