Alba is an inteligent funny and amusing girl. Although we well could say “was”, as a terrible tragic accident happened on fateful march 21st 2016. A relative, who was in a shock due to an epileptic attack, let Alba fall from a third floor. Alba saved her life, but a strong brain damage remains on her. Now, we have a long neurorehabilitation process left ahead to see how much she can recover and become herself again a bit. Help us!

We are a group of people affected by multiple sclerosis, a neurodegenerative disease experienced by some 50,000 people in Spain. Two-thirds of the 1,800 people who each year learn they have MS are under the age of 40; three out of four of them are women. GAEM promotes research into treatments for this disease, and seeks to improve the quality of life of affected people and their families. Syria is at a crucial turning point in its recent history after the fall of the Al-Assad regime, with many challenges still ahead. 14 years of conflict have left 7 mill. people internally displaced and 16 mill. in need of humanitarian assistance. With increasing movements of Syrian refugee families returning to the country with minimal resources, a critical socio-economic situation and a winter that further complicates the situation, immediate assistance is urgently needed to protect them.

Abril is a 8-year-old girl diagnosed with SPG52, with only 55 diagnoses in the world. SPG52 is an ultra-rare disease that causes very serious symptoms such as severe intellectual disability, epileptic seizures and very rapid muscle degradation in the lower body. Abril started walking when she was 3 years old and now at 8 she can hardly move anymore.

In Andalusia there are more than 2,300 girls and boys who live in child protection centers who cannot count on the warmth a home that allows them to develop with full rights. Collaborating Families share time on weekends and vacations with boys and girls who live in child protection centers, creating a healthy and unconditional bond. Apoyamos proyectos educativos en Kenia, donde vivimos, cuya realidad conocemos de primera mano y ante la cual no podemos quedarnos de brazos cruzados. Desde hace más de 2 años colaboramos con Gladways School, una escuela de educación primaria en el barrio chabolista de Kawangware (Nairobi). En la actualidad, estamos reconstruyendo este colegio que cerró permanentemente a causa de la pandemia, y financiamos los estudios de secundaria / formación profesional a 3 niños.

Following Israel's relentless and indiscriminate attacks on Gaza over several months of war, families are drinking unsafe water and going days without food. The health system has completely collapsed amid outbreaks of disease and serious injuries caused by the constant bombardment. Despite this, our teams continue to work tirelessly to save lives.

Nearly 12 years of war in Syria have left a country devastated, and worse, millions of lives destroyed. But now a devastating earthquake of magnitude 7.6 hits the northwest of the country and the southeast of Turkey on February 6, leaving more than 4,000 lives in both countries. From the Islamic Relief Foundation we are on the ground providing cash grants so that those most affected can meet their immediate needs.
