Martha Dewellie, uma professora liberiana de 54 anos, tem fundado o orfanato faz ja 30 anos. Atualmente 19 bebés, crianças e adolescentes moram juntos como uma verdadeira familia. Our objective is to get 500 solar lamps that allow mothers, children and girls in the ten villages of Guinea Bissau in which we work to study at nightfall. Battery-powered lanterns are currently used, but they cause serious pollution problems in villages, farming areas and in water. It is estimated that a common battery contaminates more than 3,000 liters of water. Solar lamps are a sustainable alternative and allow families to have light for 8 hours.

La población padece desnutrición severa, deshidratación, malaria, tuberculosis, sida, neumonía, meningitis, y son los niños la población más vulnerable y afectada.

Since 1997, Kalaweit has been working to save wildlife and forests in Indonesia. In Borneo and Sumatra, the association purchases hectares of forest to save them from deforestation and enable animals to live in a protected habitat. These forests become communal forests protected by Kalaweit. The association also owns 3 care centers with over 350 gibbons, siamangs and Malay bears in need of the best possible living conditions.
