1 in 5 children in Yemen suffer from acute malnutrition (2.3 million total). 500,000 are at risk of death. Families do not have money for the hospital or for necessary food. Under Yemeni pediatric supervision we take care of serious and difficult cases. We give milk, food, medicine, medical assistance, pay hospital admissions, etc., until their recovery or improvement. €1 pays for 1 day's worth of milk for 1 baby. In the school canteen in Seduwa, in the Makalu Valley (Nepal), we provide meals to 30 boys and girls and offer fair employment to the cook, Chandra Mara. Additionally, we have renovated a hostel to accommodate these children who live far from the school, and we have initiated an eco-farm to supply it. Following Israel's relentless and indiscriminate attacks on Gaza over several months of war, families are drinking unsafe water and going days without food. Every year, 7,000 birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians (almost twenty animals per day on average) are admitted to GREFA's Wildlife Hospital in Majadahonda (Madrid), to be treated for a wide range of injuries or pathologies. The priority of our veterinarians and wildlife rehabilitators, assisted by GREFA's volunteers, is to return these animals to their natural habitat once they have reached ideal conditions for life in the wild.
