El Sindigato

El Sindigato formed in 2018: 3 neighbours, driven to improve the lot of a local 30+ feral colony. Once the colony was stabilised through CER (2021), the scope broadened. Results to date: 200+ adoptions, 90+ sterilisations/interventions——Given the volume of work & new challenges in the barrio, from 2026 a sister asoc, Xé Gats, will focus on the street/CER, el Sindigato on fostering/adoptions ——Both groups continue caring for our beloved colony. Thanks to you all, we cover 50% of their food needs.

We work on two levels to help stray cats. - local colonies and community cats are cared for and managed using the TNR approach (trap, neuter, return) - for those cats whose temperament or circumstances make them suitable for adoption, we find them a safe, responsible, and permanent home Both adoptive and streets cats are given veterinary care, temporary shelter, and food. In the absence of comprehensive and effective government action, street cats rely solely on voluntary neighbourhood groups like ours for a dignified life with a minimum level of well-being.

Historia de Suzuki - texto del cartel para la Casa de los Gatos en Valencia

Suzuki - gata de 6 años
Nació en 2020 de una camada de 5 hermanos en la colonia del barrio.
Aunque nació callejera, a los 4 años sintió cariño hacia la gente y se fue de la colonia para instalarse en la Casa de los Gatos.
Hoy disfruta de la bondad de los vecinos de la calle Museo y de la atención de los paseantes — se siente toda una estrella bajo las cámaras de los turistas.
Que no quepa duda, no es gata de casa, le gusta su libertad.
Las hermanas de Suzuki, Harley y Quinn, y su madre, Delilah, siguen viviendo en la
colonia de la calle Huertos dónde nacieron ...
