ACTYMA Reports 55 Municipalities for the Alleged Misuse of Public Funds

We have submitted 55 complaints to the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition of the Government of Catalonia. A number of municipal authorities continue to utilize the AIAC (Companion Animal Identification Archive), either due to administrative inertia or as a result of sectoral pressures. This practice generates unwarranted public expenditure and results in the preferential use of a privately managed system in place of the officially designated public registry. The public registry ANICOM (General Companion Animal Registry) constitutes the legally recognized, official database and is provided at no cost to public administrations. Regarding community cats, whose management falls under the exclusive competence of municipal authorities, the use of ANICOM is not only procedurally appropriate but should be considered mandatory in order to comply with current regulatory standards.
