The first heat wave has passed, leaving us with dozens of chicks who jumped out of the nest to avoid suffocation. In a single day, we received more calls than in the entire previous month, and some volunteers were simultaneously caring for more than 50 chicks at home. Most of them were swifts and house martins, many of which have already grown and been released. Currently, some pallid swifts are starting their second brood, and we are receiving fallen chicks that are just a few days old, but we are still enjoying a brief period of calm that will end as soon as temperatures rise again. Ya están aquí las aves migratorias y empieza la temporada de cría. Vencejos, aviones y golondrinas, entre otras, han llegado nuestra provincia coincidiendo con varios días seguidos de lluvias y algo de viento. Por suerte, no ha habido fuertes tormentas y las aves no se han visto muy afectadas. Han ingresado unos pocos vencejos despistados que se han visto sorprendidos por la lluvia, pero nada comparado con años anteriores. Toca ir preparándonos para la llegada de los polluelos caídos del nido o abandonados. Pronto comenzaremos a reclutar voluntarios y hacer pedido de alimento.
