Birds in our care

The swifts begin to arrive coinciding with a season of rain and strong winds. This has terrible consequences for them, since after flying 9000 km from Africa they come with low body fat, and upon arrival they do not find enough food to recover. Many fall exhausted to the ground, in some cases injuring themselves. We managed to collect 20 swifts in a single day, although luckily some of them were not injured, and with rest and care they were able to fly again in a few days. Other birds affected have been turtledove or pigeon chicks, which fall from the nest due to strong winds. This last month we have received many injured chicks and adults, and also birds of other species, such as a nightingale that had collided with a glass. We have so few teamers that one month's fundraising is not enough to cover a bill for tenebrios (food we use for insect-eating birds, such as the swift), but we greatly appreciate your help.
