Lapalomatriste is a Sanctuary that is especially dedicated to pigeons. It is the home of hundreds of rescued feral pigeons. Many of them are brought to us wounded or are disabled for life. We also take in and handrear squabs and youngsters who fell out of the nest. Join our group and help us to sustain the Sanctuary and continue to give a forever home to more birds in distress. Pigeons are the parias of animal protection, they can only count on your compassion!

The Pirineu Zoo Foundation is a leading private wild animal rescue center in Catalonia. In 2023, we accomplished the successful reintegration of 282 animals back into their natural habitats. For those animals unable to be released, we provide lifelong care within our sanctuary. We invite you to unite with us in our cause. We are a non-profit NGO funded by donations. We focus on rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing sanctuary for birds. We handle around 2,000 inquiries and release an average of 250 birds annually. Many come from seizures, trafficking, abuse, and abandonment, and we give them a second chance.
