Manuel is a 6-year-old boy with a RAC1 gene mutation and Dandy-Walker syndrome—rare, incurable conditions that bring with them a host of issues, including congenital heart disease, poor motor coordination and balance, hyperactivity, epilepsy, and feeding, speech, and behavioral disorders. That is why we founded the "Mi Sobrino Manuel" Association: to raise funds for research and therapies, helping Manuel achieve a better quality of life. Will you help us?
What is the aid used for?
Asociación Mi Sobrino Manuel
We will use the funds raised to finance both the therapies Manuel attends and the research project we have been involved in since June 2024. These represent our only avenue for trying to improve Manuel''s quality of life, as his conditions currently have neither a treatment nor a cure. Manuel attends numerous therapy sessions each week—including speech therapy (for both swallowing solids and language disorders), occupational therapy, equine therapy, neuropsychology, physical therapy, and swimming—all aimed at addressing his specific challenges. Regarding the research project, we are very encouraged by the results achieved during the first year and hope to soon have treatments available that will help Manuel, others affected by the RAC1 gene mutation, and those suffering from conditions such as Alzheimer''s, Parkinson''s, and certain types of cancer. Thank you very much!
