For more than 30 years, Scooby has been providing shelter to abandoned and mistreated animals. In the 90's we brought to light the atrocities inflicted on galgos (Spanish greyhounds). At present, we are the biggest shelter in Spain, currently homing more than 1000 dogs and cats and 200 farm animals. Our resources are very limited and we depend mainly on the donations. Dalida is a lawyer from Sarajevo who has been involved in protection of animals for more than 15 years and she is one of the rescuers and activists with most experience in Bosnia. Dalida and her mom take care of 140 saved dogs and cats in their shelter Usko's Nest Dog. They really need help with the costs for food, vetbills, medication and supplements, deworming and defleaing, and to hire a worker to help out Dalida's mum, who is working so hard, but can't keep up on her own. Help is needed!

I am Alma Kovacevic and I was forced to rescue 4 dogs from the street due to their awful condition in which I found them in my neighborhood. They were abused by people, tortured, sick and starving. I didn't have heart to leave them like that .They are currently at 2 small private shelters and my goal is to help them find a save and nice home abroad when the become fine. Generally, Bosnia and Herzegovina has a quite good Law on Animal Welfare and Protection but it has not been implementing :(

Pepi's refuge in Pedrera, Seville, Spain was founded in June 2005 by Alan and Jane Since then they have given shelter to hundreds of dogs. For them it's a labour of love and dedication. They started taking dogs in, when they found close by their home a poor dog hanging in a tree, the dog had been "put down" in what seems a most cruel and callous way. Pepi's survive on fundraising and donations alone. So they need every Euro raised to feed and care for the 80 dogs currently at the refuge.

We recognise that these little rescues really struggle with awareness for what they selflessly do, and struggle to raise funds We aim to help them with both. And this is where your funds come in. 100% of the money raised pays a vet bill or a food bill to the maximum of 100 euros. Una vez rescatados los perros reciben el tratamiento veterinario necesario en cada caso y ya recuperados se entregan en adopción como animales de compañía. Galgos 112 no recibe subvenciones de ningún tipo. El 30% de los galgos y podencos rescatados por Galgos 112 llegan a la asociación en un estado crítico que requiere tratamientos especiales de larga duración y coste elevado.

Edina spends all her time saving animals from the streets in Sarajevo. She is also a volunteer at Praca (horror) shelter where dogs do not get food, medical attention, water, etc. She tries to save as many as possible. In winter Edina feeds the strays at night. Edina has around 130 dogs and 90 cats under her care at pensions and tries to find them good homes. She cannot do this alone, please help her!

At any given time I always have Galgos, Podencos. and other disgarded dogs in my care, who I have personally rescued from the pound, from hunters/breeders, from the streets, or simply brought to my door. Galgos Rescue Almeria (GRA) is een kleine shelter die zich vooral bekommerd om het lot van galgos en podencos.Deze rassen worden door de Spaanse overheid totaal niet beschermd daar ze gebruikt, zeg maar gerust misbruikt, worden voor de jacht en eigenlijk aanzien worden als een werktuig.Uiteraard sluiten we de ogen niet voor andere rassen/dieren in nood, en zetten wij ook voor hen ons hart en deuren open.

I want to help “Saving the Street Dogs”, a group created to help the street dogs in Romania and Bosnia, and to rescue those that are in public shelters. Marin-Natasa Ivanovic cares for a constant number of dogs that she has rescued, that need continued food and veterinary care. With the support of other volunteers Marin prepares the rescued dogs for foster and rehoming in various countries. The group relies donations and I hope this Teaming group will ensure a regular income can be generated.
