EL CAPITÁN animal project is a German organization who dedicates its charity work to help feral, stray and streets cats of the Canaraian Island of Fuerteventura. Our work in particular is: > Catpopulation control through neutering (TNR - trap - neuter - release); > Set-up and monitoring of the Punto de Gatos; > Providing of medical help for cats; > Close collaboration with local vets; > Education in the field of animal protection;

Here on Fuerteventura, it’s not just the sun that’s burning – our budget is too!

Dear Catlovers,

Our vet costs are skyrocketing – injured strays, kitten care, emergencies... we're struggling to keep up.

Imagine this:
You go to take out the trash and hear a rustling sound – from a sealed cardboard box.
You open it: 5 kittens, simply dumped like garbage.

Luckily, they’re healthy and full of life. But clearly, they came from a home – so what about their mother?
Is she still there? Will she keep having litters that end up the same way?

These kittens alone cost us around €180/month for food, litter & care, plus €470 for basic medical treatment.

And this is just one case. We still have emergency rescues, ongoing neutering, and care for our shelter and hotel cats.
