La asociación alemana, EL CAPITÁN animal project, es una organización sin ánimo de lucro que se dedica a los gatos callejeros en la Isla Canaria de Fuerteventura. Nuestras tareas son entre otras: > Control de la población de los gatos por la castración (CER - capturar - esterilizar - regresar) > Creación y mantenamiento de Punto de Gatos > Atención médica para los gatos callejeros > La estrecha colaboración con los veterinarios locales > La educación en el bienestar de animal

Meow dear Catlovers,

Tomasa was found helpless in a cardboard box near the bins. Thankfully, she was taken into foster care, where she finally experienced warmth and care, and little by little regained her strength. Sadly, her eye injury was too severe to be saved, and the eye had to be removed. She is now recovering from surgery, and once she has fully healed, Tomasa will be looking for a loving home where she can finally rest and feel safe.

Not long after, another emergency call reached us: a tiny kitten, barely three months old, was in urgent need of help. Luckily, our vet clinic was still open, so we rushed little Astra there. She received deworming and flea treatment, and now continues with antibiotics and special eye care. For now, Astra remains at the clinic – unless a foster home can be found where she can receive the attentive care she so badly needs.

And then there is another brave soul, who suffered quietly for far too long. His inflammation had already advanced severely, but like so many cats, he hid his pain until it became unbearable. At the moment, he is being fed through a nasal tube to support his recovery. As soon as he starts eating on his own again, the tube can be removed – and we all hope this will mark the beginning of a new chapter, finally free from pain.

Each of these stories is a reminder of the courage and resilience of animals – and of how deeply they rely on our help until they can find happiness in a safe and loving home.
