La Fondation Benjamin Mehnert est une organisation à but non lucratif qui se consacre à la défense d'animaux de compagnie qui souffrent de mauvais traitements ou de négligence. Nous concentrons notre travail principalement sur le sauvetage, le rétablissement et le déplacement des lévriers dans les foyers familiaux, leur offrant ainsi une nouvelle opportunité comme animaux de compagnie. Bien que nous nous consacrions principalement à la récupération des lévriers, actuellement dans notre refuge vivent plus de 700 animaux....

For more than 30 years, Scooby has been providing shelter to abandoned and mistreated animals. In the 90's we brought to light the atrocities inflicted on galgos (Spanish greyhounds). At present, we are the biggest shelter in Spain, currently homing more than 1000 dogs and cats and 200 farm animals. Our resources are very limited and we depend mainly on the donations. Sylvia den Donker zet zich vrijwillig in voor mishandelde, gedumpte en ter dode opgeschreven honden, welke vaak maanden in een hok in het dodingstation wachten op hun (nare) einde. Zij vangt de honden liefdevol op en geeft de noodzakelijke medische hulp en tijd om te herstellen om vervolgens een warme mand voor ze te zoeken in NL en/of Belgie. We discovered that in the Vilafranca shelter some dogs are residing there since many years. It is our goal to get these dogs away from the shelter: stop their suffering, stop their exposure to the stress of the shelter and stop the lack of love and attention they had to deal with for more than 8 years now. Our group saves the mistreated and abandonned animals in Spain. The group has been run for many years by Maria Gloria Salinas-Picon. All dogs that we take on as a group are taken first to the vet and treated irrespective of costs. For those who cannot go to a foster residency is paid which is 90E each month. All dogs will have a full health check, micro-chips and vaccinations as well as a passport. Pictures and videos are published on the FaceBook page of the group.

Es un proyecto muy a la larga, pero es lo que queremos y lo que necesitamos, ya que donde actualmente está no nuestros perros es un lugar inaccesible en coche, difícil de llegar andando, y sin luz ni agua. Sasha takes care of 750 unwanted dogs .. – this has never been his dream - but the dogs are there, waiting for food, waiting for help.. every day..again. The dogs are kept in packs, they run free for 8 hours per day, they eat, rest and play together. They are safe. Safe from the dangers of the street and humans.
