What is the story behind this cause?
Imagine having to deal with the world without any sound, without balance, and without sight. At 9 months Bruna is diagnosed with Usher Syndrome Type 1B: a rare disease that deprives children of their hearing and balance from the moment they are born, and deteriorates their sight until they become completely blind in their childhood. Save Sight Now Europe’s goal is to find a cure for Retinitis Pigmentosa, the cause of blindness related to Usher 1B. Help us: share our story, and join our fight.

En 2022 desde Save Sight Now (EU y EEUU) con el apoyo de la Foundation Fighting Blindness, hemos financiamos tres nuevos e importantes programas de investigación para el síndrome de Usher de tipo 1B (USH1B), entre ellos el Institut de la Vision y el Wolfrum Lab. Actualmente estamos financiando un total de 4 proyectos de investigación para el tratamiento de la retinosis pigmentaria (RP) en el USH1B que abarcan desde estudios en laboratorio (celulas pluripotentes, sistemas AAVV, …) hasta el paso previo para poder empezar a probar en humanos.
