My name is Nikos Tsikalakis and I am the owner of Bronx Familia Animal Shelter. For the past 10 years I have dedicated my life to save the stray and abused dogs of Crete, Greece. I currently have 250 dogs, one horse, two sheep and a goat… times are often hard financially, but I believe that we together can make a better world for the animals. The purpose of Animal Rescue is to defend animal rights through rescuing, raising awareness, education, lobbying and activism. The animals we rescue are always the most difficult cases. We don't give up on our rescues. We make sure they get the best care and try the hardest to find adoptive homes or fostering. Most animals are adopted abroad through a strict adoption screening and a follow up process. We believe the stray population can only be fully controlled by spaying/neutering.

Investighiamo e lavoriamo per impedire atti di crudeltà e maltrattamento e per aiutare gli asini in difficoltà (299 quelli raggiunti e aiutati nel solo 2016). Ci occupiamo di educazione e di interventi assistiti per persone con bisogni speciali. Siamo la sede italiana di The Donkey Sanctuary, ente che da quasi 50 anni opera in tutto il mondo in difesa degli asini.

The Association manages the animal shelter "Fratelli Minori".There are 600 dogs and 220 cats. The association's revenue consists of membership fees, offers, donations from supporters and contributions from the agreements with the municipalitie of Olbia. The funds raised are used to cover the costs for sterilization of stray dogs, assistance to sick animals and the management of the Refuge that is always in difficulty.
