We are volunteer animal rights activists. We try to help wherever help is needed. In smaller villages in Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania we take care of street cats and dogs. We support personally known animal rights activists and veterinarians with money for castration, medical care and feed. Through systematic castration campaigns we try to reduce the "replenishment" of animals on the street and in the shelter hells.

Animal welfare goes beyond national borders. Every animal deserves a chance at a dignified life. The association operates a shelter in Tunari, Romania. A maximum of 140 dogs can currently be taken in and cared for there. We take care of dogs that have had an accident or are in need, and we constantly rescue animals from the so-called killing-shelters. In addition, we support and organize castration campaigns and maintain a Germany-wide network of around 100 foster homes.

We help since 6 years local activists in the region of Shkoder, Northern Albania, to raise awareness in pet keeping, to change politics concerning animal welfare, to find organizations who help with spaying and neutering campaigns (CNVR),to deal with everyday emergencies concerning street dogs and cats,to educate be giving good examples. By doing this we hope to build a solid ground so that the activists can continue with this concept in long terms. We are just a few people and need Your HELP.

* MAINTAINING A SHELTER of over 1500 homeless dogs in Tg-Jiu without any help from the authorities. * SPAYING & NEUTERING of pets and stray dogs to control the dog and cat populations. * EDUCATING CHILDREN to understand the importance to treat animals well * HELPING ANIMALS IN NEED in the area e.g. feeding stray dogs, rescuing abandoned & abused animals, filing animal cruelty reports to the police and promoting awareness on animal rights.

For 2014 we have been helping Stibis' dog paradise, in Public Shelter Galati, where 1500 dogs "live". These dogs do not have anyone and so you need us. We make sure enough food is available on site and have already saved many dogs. We also castrate, we let dogs provide medical care, etc. Therefore, we are grateful to YOU for any help. We also have 50 dogs waiting for paid foster homes in Romania for your chance. Please help us so that we can continue to help

Help for Strays e.V. is a Germany-based non profit organisation which supports the private animal shelter "Riska" in Belgrade, Serbia. It is home to approx. 250 dogs and 30 cats. The shelter feeds the animals and provides medical care. It is financed through donations only.
