Group created to give a fast and effective first help to Bodegueros who are abandoned in the streets of Spain in extreme conditions or locked in local dog pounds risking to be euthanized. We rescue them, pay the dog pound’s fees, take them to the vet, pay for residence and transport and we look for foster homes and associations who can shelter them until they find a forever home.

Los Mejores Amigos is a non-profit shelter located in the Province of Albacete in Spain; a province where there is a lot of animal cruelty, mistreatment and mass abandonment. Los Mejores Amigos collects endangered and / or abandoned animals and gives them a new life at the shelter, while looking for a home for them. The shelter's capacity is up to 50 dogs. GAB is an association that fights against the mistreatment and abandonment of the Ratonero Bodeguero Andaluz. This breed is used for hunting and when they are "no longer useful" they are abandoned. It is the same problem as with galgos and podencos, except that the bodegueros are not such a well known breed. The money raised goes directly to pay for the dogs' homes, which cost 100 euros per month per dog, plus countless veterinary expenses. Every euro counts to keep saving dogs.

We are rescued from stray animals and taken out of Chiclana's kennel. We keep 25/30 animals continuously in shelters that we cover their nutrition, and some medications are in residence, (€ 100 / month) As soon as they are rescued, WE BID FOR THE IMMEDIATE VETERINARY ATTENTION, without limits, We are endorsed by more than 100 animals ADOPTED annually and many years of experience.
