At her haven, with other rescues, Lucy has 12 rehabilitated horses and donkeys. She lives on site in her caravan and has dedicated the past 15 years to helping animals in the Roma communities of rural Bulgaria. She delivers hay to the poorest of horse owners, gives out better fitting tack to working horses in need and provides tick treatment, dewormers and general medical aid. Lucy relies totally on donations and voluntary help to meet the needs of her equines and those at 'Outreach.'
Funds raised here help to provide hay for Lucy's 10 rescued and rehabilitated equines at her haven in rural Bulgaria. Also hay for the often overworked and undernourished Roma owned horses in the local community where the poverty is unimaginable. Lucy encourages local people to help her with jobs, such as poo picking, grooming etc. in exchange for hay to feed their own horses. It is a great initiative and all the while they are seeing and learning kinder ways with and around horses. Lucy, now 70, has devoted the past 15 years to rescuing and helping animals in need. I have set up this group to ensure that ongoing she has regular financial support for the equines. Thank you for participating in this very worthy cause. As our teaming group grows we hope to be able to provide dewormers, tick prevention, trimming and help with vet's bills etc.

A new life begins for Boshko this month so I would like to highlight his wonderful transformation from rescue to rehabilitation in the hands of Lucy at LIFE. Pictures speak louder than words, please see the photo below.
Lucy, now 70, was sad to seem him leave with his bestie Polly, to pastures new. However in his new home, Stanpede Horse Rescue, he will be the lead riding horse and funds earned from riding lessons will be ploughed back into this relatively new rescue just 30 minutes from Lucy’s. Stan is a very accomplished horseman and they will be well taken care of there.
