This Guatemalan project was created in 2005 and is dedicated to the education of the children from Santa María de Jesús, an indigenous majority population living in poverty. Jardín de Amor (JDA) works in four areas: EDUCATION, as the basis for combating poverty, NUTRITION, essential for the development of children, HEALTH, hygiene education and offering financial aid to access health care and HOUSING, building houses for the families. We are the family of Yessica Martínez Romero, a 22-year-old girl from Vigo who has suffered from a neurodegenerative disease since the age of seven, which still has no diagnosis today. She has been in a wheelchair for more than five years. We have visited countless hospitals seeking a solution and still need help to obtain a diagnosis, as well as funding for research, care, and medical expenses. NTT DATA colleagues joined forces to do our bit in the COVID crisis by supporting UNICEF who worked with the Spanish Government to provide supplies, to protect our health professionals. At the moment, their needs are different and we will donate them all the amount already collected so that they can attend to the different emergencies they are working with.
