my name is Irene and I live and work on the beautiful Greek island Kythira for 18 years now, here I take care of the stray cats of the island, at my home I have a shelter for cats with handicaps, at the moment 80 cats, that for there own safety cannot live in the "wild" because they are blind, deaf, paralyzed etc. for more information visit the website or follow me on FB .. 1 year ago today, wildfire destroyed a big part of the island, in this fire we lost everything but thanks to your support we managed to get back on our feet, sadly we lost a lot of animals (mostly the one's that were free to go where they wanted) but now, a year later there's new life around us, we build new walls and fences, we cleared the fields so everyone is safe, we replanted tree's and there are plants waiting to be planted, we are managing, but we cannot thank you enough for your quick actions and all your support, we hope never to experience this again and really hope none of you ever will THANKS
