Hello All,

Happy New Year, although 2026 does feel like it's got off to a rocky start! Hopefully you've been able to follow along with our posts and updates on Instagram, we try to keep that up to date.

Looking back over 2025 it was quite a year, once again lots of sadness but definitely moments of joy that make it all worthwhile.Once again two kittens that we had fostered died from Pavo and we said good bye to many others through illness, age and accidents. However there were moments of great joy, lives saved and multiple adoptions to Germany, Austria, Sweden and the UK. (Willow & Maya to the UK were probably the highlight and they are loving their new forever home).

We did slightly less TNR's last year (45), which means that the programme is working, there are less kittens and most of those cats that we took to the vets had been dumped in the village over the summer.

In numbers, we bought 8,600 cans of cat food, +400kg of dry food and 300 tins of kitten food, 28 7hour round trips to the vet on the mainland, as well as what feels like a never ending supply de-worming pills, antibiotics and other medicines.

Your donations have made all of this possible and for that we are forever grateful. The cat colonies here are now at least stable, they still need out help and your support so we hope that you will continue to support the Teaming efforts into 2026. If you know of anyone that would like to join us, please get them involved, the more people in the Team, the more we can do to help the street cats here in Croatia

Hello All,

It's been a while since our last update, hopefully you've all been following along on our instagram account to see what we've been up to. If not, please do have a look as we post on there quite regularly.

Looking back 2024 was a very busy year, we had a lot of sadness and a lot of joy. Quite a few cats and kittens were killed last year by cars and by illness, two of the kittens we adopted also sadly passed away. However, we met some just amazing people through the summer and we were able to place 14 cats and kittens into forever homes. Most going abroad, but also, some wonderful people in the village agreed to adopt kittens that had been dumped.

We haven't let up on the TNR either, although last year was quieter, we still took 53 cats to the vet to be sterilised. This is now slowly starting to have an impact on the population here, it's starting to stabilise and slightly reduce as the volume of new cats arriving every year is dropping.

We still feed and look after about 100 cats on a daily basis, so even though its just 1 euro a month, it really adds up and we couldn't do it without your amazing and continued support.

Hello All,

Just a quick update from us here at Nelly's Trust. We have started to TNR again now the summer chaos has ended and we can actually get on a ferry again to go to the vet on the mainland. We have about 25-30 cats to take that have been dumped over the summer, luckily some of them have found homes in the village, while the rest are being looked after at the various feeding stations.

The street cats generally are in good health as we approach winter, we will be replacing all of the rugs in the shelters at the main feeding station soon ahead of winter and adding a new improved feeding platform that will keep the food dry if it's raining.

Your monthly donations really do add up, so a massive thank you!! We are trying to expand our teaming group as regular donations make a really big difference to us.
