Soy Patricia, la directora de Teaming. Hace ya más de 14 años que estoy en Teaming. De hecho, estoy desde el principio, desde que era un sueño y había que convertirlo en esta plataforma. Por eso, tengo la suerte de haber conocido a muchas causas sociales personalmente y es por ellas por las que podría estar 14 años más. Hoy quiero compartiros qué significa Teaming y vuestra ayuda para las causas.

Conchi, de BASMA, nos decía hace poco que “sin Teaming, BASMA no existiría y no llenaría la barriguita de miles de animales cada mes”. Saber que conseguimos alimentar a miles de animales todos los meses es algo que me emociona. Como alguien que no imagina su día a día sin su familia de cuatro patas, me parece fundamental la cantidad de vidas que salvamos.

También conseguimos imposibles. Alba cayó de un tercer piso por el ataque epiléptico de un familiar y desde entonces la hemos estado ayudando. Nadie imaginaba que Alba pudiera volver a sonreír, comunicarse, entender, dar besos… Miento, nadie, no: en verdad, sus padres sabían que ella podía hacer mucho más de lo que su pronóstico decía. Por eso se apoyaron en Teaming, para que Alba pudiera recibir tratamientos mes a mes. Y así, Alba y su familia, no caminan solos. Tienen claro que, sin los Teamers, cada mejora no hubiera sido posible. Y nos recuerdan que este tipo de cambios requieren de tiempo, de constancia y de mucha esperanza.

En Yemen, Solidarios sin Fronteras provee de desayunos a cientos de niños y niñas en las escuelas, donde tienen educación y seguridad. Antes de empezar a repartirlos muchas niñas habían dejado el colegio e incluso sus familias barajaban el matrimonio infantil. Ahora las cuatro escuelas que atienden están llenas. Cuando Eva, su presidenta, me contó que iba a abrir este nuevo Grupo (ya tenían otro para dotar de agua a campos de refugiados), me pareció una iniciativa increíble. Me impactó ver cómo una idea tan sencilla (dar desayunos en los colegios) podía ser tan poderosa: este desayuno va más allá de la alimentación y provoca cambios sociales e incluso estructurales. Me hizo darme cuenta de que un euro es algo enorme en todas las partes del mundo, pero en algunas supone dos desayunos completos.

Otra de las causas que he seguido muy de cerca y he visitado varias veces es Xamfrá: un centro de formación musical, danza y teatro situado en el Raval de Barcelona. Su directora, Ester, me dijo una vez que “lo que ocurre en Xamfrá no existe en el imaginario colectivo”. Y pensé que era tal cual. Lo que ocurre en Xamfrá es que pequeñxs y jóvenes de todo origen y condición se juntan, interactúan, crean familia. Lo que ocurre es que las diferencias son riqueza y los valores son unión. Lo que ocurre es que aprenden arte con un nivel de exigencia altísimo y desarrollan un pensamiento crítico que les permite escoger dónde quieren estar en su entorno. Sienten que pueden elegir quiénes son porque en este lugar les dicen que pueden. En Xamfrá repiten que “la cultura es un derecho universal”. Yo os añado: “que alguien crea en ti” también lo es. Los Teamers, con su euro, permiten que nadie que toque la puerta de Xamfrá se quede sin recibir ninguna de las dos cosas.

Todas estas historias tienen algo en común: vosotros y vosotras. Sois quienes las hacéis posibles, quienes sostenéis estas vidas, estos avances, estas oportunidades. Y también los que dais esperanza donde antes no la había. Siento hoy extenderme tanto. Pero quería acercaros un poquito más a lo que significa hacer que Teaming siga en pie.

I'm Patricia, the Director of Teaming. I've been at Teaming for more than 14 years now. In fact, I've been here since the very beginning, when it was nothing more than a dream that had to become the platform it is today. Because of that, I've had the privilege of getting to know many social causes personally, and they are the reason why I could happily spend another 14 years here. Today, I'd like to share with you what Teaming—and your support—means to these causes.

Not long ago, Conchi, from BASMA, told us that "without Teaming, BASMA simply wouldn't exist, and we wouldn't be able to fill the little bellies of thousands of animals every month." Knowing that together we help feed thousands of animals month after month is something that truly moves me. As someone who can't imagine everyday life without my own four-legged family, I find the number of lives we help save incredibly meaningful.

We also make the impossible happen. Alba fell from a third-floor window during an epileptic seizure suffered by a family member, and we have been supporting her ever since. No one imagined that Alba would smile again, communicate, understand or give kisses… Well, that's not entirely true. Her parents always believed she was capable of much more than her prognosis suggested. That's why they turned to Teaming, so Alba could receive treatment month after month. Thanks to that, Alba and her family no longer walk this journey alone. They know that, without the Teamers, every improvement she has made would have been impossible. And they remind us that this kind of progress takes time, perseverance and, above all, hope.

In Yemen, Solidarios sin Fronteras provides breakfast to hundreds of children at school, where they also receive education and enjoy a safe environment. Before the breakfast programme began, many children had dropped out of school, and some families were even considering child marriage. Today, all four schools supported by the organisation are full. When Eva, the organisation's President, told me she was going to launch this new Teaming Group (they already had another one providing water in refugee camps), I thought it was an incredible initiative. I was struck by how such a simple idea—providing breakfast at school—could be so powerful. That breakfast is about much more than food: it creates social change and even drives structural transformation. It made me realise that one euro is significant anywhere in the world, but in some places it can provide two complete breakfasts.

Another cause I've followed very closely and visited several times is Xamfrà, a music, dance and theatre education centre in Barcelona's Raval neighbourhood. Its Director, Ester, once told me, "What happens at Xamfrà doesn't exist in the collective imagination." And I realised she was absolutely right.

What happens at Xamfrà is that children and young people from every background and walk of life come together, interact and become a family. What happens is that differences become a source of richness and values become a force for unity. What happens is that they learn the arts with an extraordinary level of commitment while developing the critical thinking that allows them to choose the place they want to occupy in the world around them. They feel they can choose who they want to be because, in this place, they are told that they can.

At Xamfrà they often say that "culture is a universal right." I'd like to add something to that: "having someone who believes in you" is a universal right too. Through their one euro, Teamers make sure that no one who knocks on Xamfrà's door is ever denied either of those things.

All these stories have one thing in common: you.

You are the people who make them possible. You are the ones who sustain these lives, these achievements and these opportunities. And you are also the people who bring hope where there was none before.

I feel I've gone on for quite a while today, but I wanted to bring you a little closer to what it truly means to keep Teaming going.

So I wanted to thank you personally for trusting Teaming and for helping us continue our work with your one euro. Thank you.

ich bin Patricia, die Direktorin von Teaming. Seit mittlerweile mehr als 14 Jahren bin ich Teil von Teaming. Tatsächlich bin ich von Anfang an dabei – seit der Zeit, als Teaming noch ein Traum war, der erst zu dieser Plattform werden musste. Deshalb hatte ich das große Glück, viele soziale Projekte persönlich kennenzulernen. Sie sind der Grund, warum ich gut und gerne noch weitere 14 Jahre hier sein könnte. Heute möchte ich mit euch teilen, was Teaming und eure Unterstützung für diese Projekte bedeuten.

Conchi von BASMA sagte vor Kurzem zu uns: „Ohne Teaming würde BASMA nicht existieren und wir könnten nicht Monat für Monat die kleinen Bäuche tausender Tiere füllen.“ Zu wissen, dass wir gemeinsam jeden Monat Tausende von Tieren mit Futter versorgen können, berührt mich sehr. Als jemand, der sich seinen Alltag ohne seine vierbeinige Familie nicht vorstellen kann, bedeutet es mir unglaublich viel zu wissen, wie viele Leben wir gemeinsam retten.

Wir machen aber auch scheinbar Unmögliches möglich.

Alba stürzte aus dem dritten Stock, nachdem ein Familienmitglied einen epileptischen Anfall erlitten hatte. Seitdem begleiten und unterstützen wir sie. Niemand hätte geglaubt, dass Alba wieder lächeln, kommunizieren, verstehen oder Küsse geben würde… Nein, eigentlich stimmt das nicht ganz: Ihre Eltern waren immer überzeugt, dass sie viel mehr erreichen konnte, als ihre Prognose vermuten ließ. Deshalb wandten sie sich an Teaming, damit Alba Monat für Monat ihre Therapien erhalten konnte. So gehen Alba und ihre Familie ihren Weg heute nicht mehr allein. Sie wissen, dass ohne die Teamers keiner ihrer Fortschritte möglich gewesen wäre. Und sie erinnern uns daran, dass solche Veränderungen Zeit, Ausdauer und vor allem Hoffnung brauchen.

Im Jemen versorgt Solidarios sin Fronteras Hunderte von Kindern in Schulen mit Frühstück. Dort finden sie nicht nur Nahrung, sondern auch Bildung und Sicherheit. Bevor das Frühstücksprogramm begann, hatten viele Mädchen die Schule verlassen, und manche Familien zogen sogar eine Kinderehe in Betracht. Heute sind alle vier Schulen, die die Organisation unterstützt, voll besetzt. Als Eva, die Präsidentin der Organisation, mir erzählte, dass sie diese neue Teaming-Gruppe gründen wollte (sie hatten bereits eine andere Gruppe, die Flüchtlingslager mit Wasser versorgt), fand ich diese Initiative beeindruckend. Mich hat fasziniert, wie eine so einfache Idee – Schulfrühstücke anzubieten – eine so große Wirkung entfalten kann. Dieses Frühstück bedeutet weit mehr als Nahrung: Es bewirkt gesellschaftliche und sogar strukturelle Veränderungen. Mir wurde dadurch bewusst, dass ein Euro überall auf der Welt viel wert ist – aber an manchen Orten reicht er bereits für zwei vollständige Frühstücke.

Ein weiteres Projekt, das ich seit Jahren eng begleite und mehrfach besucht habe, ist Xamfrà, ein Zentrum für Musik-, Tanz- und Theaterausbildung im Stadtteil Raval in Barcelona. Seine Direktorin Ester sagte einmal zu mir: „Was in Xamfrà geschieht, existiert in der kollektiven Vorstellung nicht.“ Und ich dachte sofort: Genau so ist es.

Was in Xamfrà geschieht, ist, dass Kinder und Jugendliche unterschiedlichster Herkunft und mit den verschiedensten Lebensgeschichten zusammenkommen, miteinander in Kontakt treten und zu einer Familie werden. Dort werden Unterschiede zu einer Bereicherung und gemeinsame Werte schaffen Zusammenhalt. Dort lernen sie Kunst auf höchstem Niveau und entwickeln zugleich ein kritisches Denken, das ihnen ermöglicht, selbst zu entscheiden, welchen Platz sie in ihrer Umgebung einnehmen möchten. Sie spüren, dass sie wählen können, wer sie sein wollen – weil man ihnen dort sagt, dass sie es können.

In Xamfrà sagt man oft: „Kultur ist ein universelles Recht.“ Ich möchte noch etwas hinzufügen: „Dass jemand an dich glaubt, ist ebenfalls ein universelles Recht.“ Mit ihrem einen Euro sorgen die Teamers dafür, dass niemand, der an die Tür von Xamfrà klopft, auf eines von beidem verzichten muss.

All diese Geschichten haben eines gemeinsam: euch.

Ihr seid diejenigen, die sie möglich machen. Ihr tragt diese Leben, diese Fortschritte und diese Chancen. Und ihr schenkt Hoffnung dort, wo es zuvor keine gab.

Heute bin ich etwas länger geworden als geplant. Aber ich wollte euch ein Stück näherbringen, was es wirklich bedeutet, dafür zu sorgen, dass Teaming weiterbesteht.

Deshalb möchte ich euch persönlich dafür danken, dass ihr Teaming vertraut und uns mit eurem einen Euro helft, weiterzumachen. Danke.
