Hace 2 meses os contábamos que NORU iba a montar un TALLER de CARPINTERÍA en el recinto donde se ubican el TALLER de TAPICERÍA y nuestros proyectos en Hawassa y que para ello viajaban a Hawassa el monitor español de carpintería voluntario Sergio de Luis Prados (DÍLAR, Granada) y el técnico de proyectos de NORU. Pasado este tiempo podemos contaros que el proyecto se ha realizado con éxito y que las nociones básicas del oficio de carpintería han sido aprendidas por varios de nuestros aprendices que ya son capaces de fabricar muebles por sí mismos dirigidos por el monitor local DAGNE. Os dejamos fotos de DAGNE y de las dos aprendices mujeres WOGANE y TIJUT y de los dos aprendices varones DEGUEMEÑ y TEMESGUEN junto a fotos de los trabajos realizados dirigidos por el monitor voluntario SERGIO.

Al mismo tiempo que lo dos subproyectos TALLER de CARPINTERÍA y TALLER de TAPICERÍA avanzan, ahora, UNA VEZ QUE HAN TERMINADO LAS CLASES, es el momento de evaluar el tercer subproyecto APOYO ESCOLAR Y DOMICILIARIO a 20 NIÑOS, comprobando el rendimiento en la escuela de los 20 niños en riesgo de exclusión social que apoyamos para evitar que la abandonen por motivos económicos.

Gracias SERGIO por por tu generosidad y paciencia y por el esfuerzo de adaptación realizado durante estos casi 2 meses y medio.

2 months ago we told you that NORU was going to set up a CARPENTRY WORKSHOP in the enclosure where the UPHOLSTERY WORKSHOP and our projects in Hawassa are currently running. Sergio Luis Prados (DÍLAR , Granada, the Spanish volunteer carpentry trainer) and NORU project technician traveled to Hawassa early May for this purpose. After this time we can tell you that the project has been carried out successful and basic notions of the trade of carpentry have been learned by several of our apprentices who are already able to manufacture furniture by themselves led by the local monitor DAGNE.
We leave some pictures of DAGNE (the local instructor), WOGANE and TIJUT (the two female apprentices) and DEGUEMEÑ and TEMESGUEN (the two male apprentices) along with photos of the work done that have been conducted by SERGIO, the Spanish volunteer trainer.

At the same time as CARPENTRY WORKSHOP and UPHOLSTERY WORKSHOP subprojects are advancing, now that the school year is over it is time to evaluate the third subproject SUPPORT AT SCHOOL AND AT HOME FOR 20 CHILDREN by checking the school's performance of the 20 children at risk of social exclusion that we support to prevent them from leaving school for economic reasons.
