To feed and care for the cats of Canillas de Aceituno

Gordo who was operated on very recently for a cancer on his nose, has had his second revision, and the vet was positive about his condition. She is very happy with how his nose is now following the chemotherapy procedure. Gordo's mouth is now 100% better, although his calicivirus is a chronic condition and he will have to have tablets whenever it flares up. He has put on weight and is now in a lovely home, as his feeder has taken him in.

Dice has had an operation to cut open his cheek to drain the abscess. We couldn't get a good photo to show his stitched up cheek. After being picked up three times in six weeks to go to the vet, he is now hanging well back at feeding time.

Little Chiquita has got a new course of medicine, and she's being very good about taking it. Like Gordo, she suffers from calicivirus. I am giving her her new medicine every day when I feed her.

I was horrified to see that Amigo, who is an older cat and one of the most affectionate, has what looks like a tail pull injury this morning, we need to get him to the vet. We continue to try to pick up Meanie who has an eye injury, and Taylor who has never been neutered, and has a head injury.

All the older kittens who Andrea has in foster have now had their second vaccinations. Andrea has found homes for three of the older kittens, and we have had the offer of a home for two of the younger kittens. We'll be promoting the older ones again soon.

We also found a home for two of the young males taken for neutering recently. That was great news.

Finally, I have been asked to help a young female who has a tumour covering part of her face. If we find a vet who is willing to operate, I will be doing a separate fundraiser for her, as she is in Alcaucin which is slightly out of our area. I feel it's very important to try to help her, especially as the lady feeding her is in her 80s and also looking after her older husband.
