Maisha Roots is an NGO dedicated to community development in Tanzania, mainly in the city of Arusha, combining a global vision with local action. Its objective is to improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable populations, promoting sustainable development and equity through the promotion of education and the development of livelihoods from a participatory approach. www.maisharoots.org

We are a non-profit NGO funded by donations. We focus on rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing sanctuary for birds. We handle around 2,000 inquiries and release an average of 250 birds annually. Many come from seizures, trafficking, abuse, and abandonment, and we give them a second chance.
