At 36 weeks’ gestation, Jorge underwent a foetal-to-foetal blood transfusion from his twin brother Cristian, which left him with severe anaemia. Cristian was not so lucky and passed away. After 17 days in intensive care, Jorge seemed to be recovering well, but he was eventually diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Since then, we have been supporting him through various therapies and orthopaedic aids. We have a dream: that he will be able to walk and communicate. Will you help us make this dream come true with just €1 a month?
Jorge is undergoing several types of therapy: - Speech and language therapy: through games, he is learning to add, multiply, and recognise pictograms, letters, words, animals and objects. Twice a week. Monthly cost: €280. - Physiotherapy: four times a week. Monthly total: €672. - Occupational therapy: he works on hand and finger motor skills, balance, coordination and sensory perception. Once a week. Monthly total: €168. - Neuropsychology: this therapy helps with managing emotions, behaviour, attention and memory. Once a week. Monthly total: €168. - TheraSuit: every six months, he travels to Madrid for a month of intensive treatment (3 hours a day). Cost: €3,000 + €3,500 for accommodation, travel, food and medication.
