1000 Moustaches is a French rescue created in March 2020 in order to help animals on a local scale. We save abandoned and stray pets and, once they're neutered, identified, tested and vaccinated, we put them up for adoption. We also try to raise public awareness and teach people more about animal welfare and health issues.
1000 Moustaches is a French rescue located in Western France. We save cats (mainly), dogs, rabbits, chinchillas and other pets, whether they're abandoned by their families or strays. We receive no governmental funding and depend entirely on donations. Due to the inflation of these past few years, vet fees have skyrocketed and so have our invoices. En avril, place à mamie Mandoline ! Cette chatte de 16 ans est en panier retraite à l'association, elle souffre d'arthrose, d'insuffisance rénale et commence à devenir un peu sénile… Vous voyez les clichés de personnes âgées qui grognent sur tout et tout le monde en regardant à la fenêtre (genre grand-père Simpson) ? C'est Mandoline ! D'ailleurs, les copains chats ont intérêt à ne pas passer trop près, sinon c'est coup (de canne) de patte assuré ! On va pas se laisser faire par les jeunots, quand même ! Mais quand il s'agit d'humains, là, c'est différent, et mamie devient tout sucre tout miel à demander (exiger) des câlins en veux-tu en voilà ! Une mamie qui a son petit caractère et qu'on adore !
Mandoline peut aussi être marrainée pour nous aider à payer ses frais vétérinaires (en échange de quoi vous recevrez des petites nouvelles régulières !)
In April, granny Mandoline comes to the stage! This 16 year old cat is "retired", meaning she will spend the rest of her life with us, cherished by her foster family. She has osteoarthritis, kidney failure and is starting to get a bit senile… You know that image of Grampa Simpson yelling at clouds? That's Mandoline! And the other cats had better stay out of paw reach, or else she'll teach them how to behave! These young uns… As for humans, well, that's a different story! She loves them and asks (demands) her dose of petting and scratching, she never gets enough!
Mandoline has godmothers/fathers who help us pay the vet fees and, in exchange, get news of her regularly. Contact us if you're interested in her!
