Defensa Animal Palentina es una asociación de defensa animal que trabaja sin refugio y con casas de acogida. Para nosotros su ayuda es indispensable para ayudar y rescatar a los animales. No tenemos tampoco subvención, así que dependemos de los donativos de la gente y de que los animales tengan padrinos o madrinas que los ayuden, no sólo económicamente, sino también a encontrar un hogar definitivo. The more than 75 cats have plenty of space to roam, climb trees, run, play, as well as shelters and beds with blankets at home. La Leucemia infecciosa felina (FELV) es un retrovirus que se incorpora al material genético de la célula, lo cual lo hace difícil de tratar. El virus ataca a los leucocitos, debilita el sistema inmunológico del gato. No existe cura para la Leucemia, pero existe una vacuna preventiva que ayuda a evitar el contagio. La infección puede causar inmunosupresión, anemia y enfermedades tumorales (linfomas). Los costes de veterinarios de estos gatitos son muy altos. TODOS nuestros gatos son LEUCEMICOS.
