Seit Jahren ist Carmen im Tierschutz tätig. Ihr Fokus liegt auf der Ursachenbekämpfung der miserablen Situation der Tiere in Spanien. Immer mehr kam sie zu der Überzeugung, dass es nicht ausreicht, sich vom Ausland aus zu engagieren. So packte sie Anfang 2014 ihr gesamtes Hab & Gut und wanderte nach Sevilla, Spanien aus, um vor Ort ein eigenes Tierheim, Asociación Parenas ES, zu eröffnen. Sie arbeitet Tag für Tag mit vollem Einsatz für all die in Not geratenen Tiere.

Ciudad Animal es un refugio situado en el corazón de la Mancha, donde el galgo y los demás perros de caza son castigados, además de otros mestizos. Ahora mismo hay aproximadamente 200 perros que buscan una oportunidad. Llevamos 10 años luchando diariamente para conseguir ayudas y poder seguir con nuestra labor.
