We are Potes i Arrels, the animal protective association of Muro de Alcoy, a town in Alicante. We were born with the aim of preventing the stray animals of our town from ending up in a dog pound, and we succeeded! We don't have a municipal animal shelter, but that does not stop us. We work with foster homes to avoid life behind bars as much as possible. For only € 1 a month, you can contribute to giving a second chance to those who have been rejected by others. The Society for the Protection of Animals and Plants of Alcoy is a non-profit association whose purpose is the protection and defense of animals. We manage the Municipal Canine Shelter and there we provide abandoned dogs and cats with a roof, food and all the necessary care while they find a new home with family who provide them with the quality of life that they all deserve.

Kittens Shelter for Leukemic Cats. On April 9th, 2021, the 8 babies of Bombay were born, a kitten rescued 21 days earlier from the street. An angel suffering from 3 mastitis since giving birth, yet continuing to breastfeed her babies. Two months later, we find out that both the 8 babies and Bombay are positive for Leukemia, and today 'Bombay Family' begins to fulfill a dream and not abandon the weakest at the worst moment.
