Anita tenía 2 años cuando le diagnosticaron cáncer. Desgraciadamente no pudo superarlo, después de casi 4 años continuos de tratamientos, la falta de investigaciones sobre su tumor y por tanto de tratamientos efectivos para curarla se la llevaron para siempre. Necesitamos abrir investigaciones específicas para los niñ@s, es la única manera de curarlos. To implement, in all its phases, a noninvasive diagnostic test that detects tumor cells or genetic material circulating in the blood or other bodily fluids, providing relevant information about the genetic and molecular characteristics of a tumor. It is a tool that allows for diagnosis, treatment monitoring, early detection, and identification of tumor relapse, in a less invasive manner than a traditional biopsy. Liquid biopsy accurately and targetedly analyzes mutations in plasma, serum, and cerebrospinal fluid, and is of particular interest in patients where surgical sample collection is very difficult. Join Anita's Teaming Group with just €1 a month to support this project, which is being developed in the Molecular Oncology Laboratory at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona. Its potential as a minimally invasive tool for understanding pediatric tumors is immense and very promising.
