Since 2008, at the Miranda Foundation we have rescued 80 horses that lived in difficult situations and mistreatment, isolation and abandonment and we have given them a life in freedom. In order to continue with our objective, we need financial resources. Now more than ever, the drought situation forces us to supplement the feeding of the horses and consumes our resources. We are a non-profit Animal Protector located in Girona that helps animals that have been abandoned or collected from the street. Once collected, we visit the veterinarian, put chip, vaccines, worms and look for a good home for life. We are a group of people affected by multiple sclerosis, a neurodegenerative disease experienced by some 50,000 people in Spain. Two-thirds of the 1,800 people who each year learn they have MS are under the age of 40; three out of four of them are women. GAEM promotes research into treatments for this disease, and seeks to improve the quality of life of affected people and their families.
