APAN is an animal shelter, located near Barcelona. The project was born with the aim of finding beautiful families for the dogs and cats living the shelter, promoting volunteerism, animal welfare awareness as well as respect and love for the animals. The Zoo del Pirineu Foundation is the largest private wild animal rescue center in Catalonia and the zoo with the most variety of Iberian species in Spain (62 in 2025). This year we have admitted 416 animals, released 210 and are caring for 291 residents at the shelter. We work for a more just and compassionate world for all living beings.
