Gaia Sanctuary Foundation is a vegan rescue and recovery center for animals considered as farm, where those who have been exploited, mistreated or abandoned, receive the necessary care to have a decent life for the rest of their lives. We are an association formed by volunteers who love these little beings that one day sneaked into our lives. We help to feed and control colonies of cats in Barcelona, rescuing and giving up abandoned puppies and adult cats. We want to raise awareness about respect and responsible ownership as the only way to solve the dramatic situation of homeless cats. You can be part of this, cheer up.

Los animales abandonados son a menudo las víctimas silenciosas de nuestra sociedad, quedando desamparados a su suerte. Desde la Lliga per a la protecció d’animals i plantes de Barcelona llevamos más de 80 años trabajando por y para ellos. Pero para cuidar de nuestros animales en el refugio necesitamos de vuestras aportaciones económicas para pagar veterinarios, comida y el mantenimiento del propio refugio. El cuidado diario y la búsqueda de adoptantes responsables lo ponemos nosotros. Colabora!!

Espai de Gats is a cat adoption centre in Barcelona where we work to find homes for adult cats, who unfortunately are more invisible in shelters and refuges. Every month, we need €3,500 for dry and wet food, litter, veterinarians, medicines, rent for the premises... This non-profit project is sustainable thanks to people like you, who love animals. We have about 600 Cats in controlled colonies. The oldest cat in the colony was KITTY with 25 years of age. We currently have many cats over the age of 17 in our colonies. Every week felines in very bad condition are RESCUED, they live in the HOGAR de los Gatos. The Sanctuary's job is to regain their physical and mental state to find a new family for them. About 700 Cats depend on us, all of them receive their veterinary assistance when they need it.
