In this 2025, we have had to assume higher expenses than in other years due to the need to buy specific food for two of our shelter dogs. One of them, Sur, a mastiff of about 5 years, needs renal food, as well as a renal protector that must be administered daily. Meanwhile, another of our furry friends, Ras, a 6-year-old German Shepherd mix, is under so much stress in the shelter that the only thing preventing him from continuous diarrhea is a gastrointestinal food. In addition to these extra expenses, this year we have had to buy pills for fleas and ticks due to a spring and summer plagued with parasites after the rains. Given that most of our furry ones are large, over 40 kilos, the cost of the pills has exceeded 300 euros.
