Potes i Arrels

We are Potes i Arrels, the animal protective association of Muro de Alcoy, a town in Alicante. We were born with the aim of preventing the stray animals of our town from ending up in a dog pound, and we succeeded! We don't have a municipal animal shelter, but that does not stop us. We work with foster homes to avoid life behind bars as much as possible. For only € 1 a month, you can contribute to giving a second chance to those who have been rejected by others. Animal Shelter of Muro de Alcoy, Potes i Arrels

Potes i Arrels we are a non-profit association that fights to defend the well-being of abandoned animals. We are located in Muro de Alcoy, Alicante. Our goal is to manage an animal shelter, a place where we can house all those animals we rescue. Until that moment comes, we exist thanks to the collaboration of foster homes. We need funds to be able to pay vets, to buy the animals food and other materials such as trap cages, carriers, leashes,... We also have an educational project: to organize seminars with professional speakers, with the aim that training in animal welfare reaches the maximum number of people we can. For this project, we need funds to pay the speakers, as well as the materials necessary for the seminaries development.

Este es Campeón. Uno de nuestros angelitos en adopción.
Es un perrito muy simpático que rescatamos en el mes de abril de este año. Estaba vagando moribundo por la montaña. Tenía las cuatro patitas llenas de llagas, con una infección alucinante. Estaba deshidratado, desnutrido y muy dolorido. A penas le quedaban fuerzas para seguir con vida. Necesitó un mes de antibióticos para recuperarse. Afortunadamente encontramos una muy buena casa de acogida que le ha estado ayudando.
De hecho, lo sigue haciendo! Mario es su familia de acogida y ahora se ha visto de nuevo en una cura especial para Campeón. Hace unos días se le inflamó una glándula salival y, el pobre animal, se la mordió y se ha causado un hematoma importante. Va a necesitar bastantes días de tratamiento, entre el que está una pomada para la lengua.
Mario nos cuenta cómo Campeón se "enfada con él" y ¡se esconde bajo la cama tras las curas!
