We are a voluntary group of international volunteers who live in Gran Canaria. Our mission is to reduce the amount of plastic and help keep this beautiful island free on both the beaches and under the sea. We organise monthly beach cleans and we educate in schools across the island about recycling and the importance of protecting our oceans. Any funds will help us purchase litter pickers, beach ashtrays and under water litter picking nets. #apoyoc4lifegc #plasticfreeisland
Our action for August and September is to pick up 1,000,000 cigarette butts off of thebeachea on the island of Gran Canaria. Cigarette butts are made of plastic so they do NOT decompose. They are often eaten by birds and sea life and they contaminate the sea water Our aim is to provide beach ash trays and portable ash trays to give out to people on the beaches to prevent the huge amount which are thrown on to the floor each and every day. #apoyoc4lifegc #kickthebuttsofthebeach
