També intentem millorar la situació dels gats urbans, establint colònies controlades mitjançant la seva esterilització, vacunació i desparasitació. L'associació Protectora d'Animals l'Anxova Peluda és una entitat sense ànim de lucre constituïda el 2014 i situada al municipi de l'Escala (Girona).
