Following Israel's relentless and indiscriminate attacks on Gaza over several months of war, families are drinking unsafe water and going days without food. The health system has completely collapsed amid outbreaks of disease and serious injuries caused by the constant bombardment. Despite this, our teams continue to work tirelessly to save lives.
Since 7 February, we have been providing assistance in several hospitals and primary care centres in the Gaza Strip. We provide surgical support, wound care, physiotherapy, post-partum care, outpatient consultations, vaccination and mental health services, but the repeated sieges of several hospitals are affecting our activities in a shrinking territory. If we were not there, the vast majority of our patients would not have access to any medical care at all. But with you by our side, we can continue to stand by each of these people. Hola Teamer, como siempre agradecer tu contribución a nuestra causa. Hoy abrimos un nuevo proyecto de Teaming en el que recaudamos fondos para luchar contra la desnutrición, que afecta especialmente a niños y niñas, especialmente en el África subsahariana y sur de Asia.
Cada año, más de tres millones de niños y niñas menores de 5 años mueren por desnutrición o por causas relacionadas con la misma. El 80% de los casos de desnutrición en sus formas más agudas se concentran en tan solo 20 países del mundo, coincidiendo con el periodo de escasez que se da entre las cosechas.
Nuestro principal reto es dar tratamiento al mayor número de niños y niñas con desnutrición aguda severa, sobre todo en contextos inestables o de conflicto.
