WHY is a former stray dog. Her mother was rescued heavily pregnant in Campania in 2018, and WHY found a loving home in December 2018. Her wish: that all her friends can also be rescued and find a family. Her mission: to alleviate the suffering of stray dogs in southern Italy through emergency aid and long-term projects. Italy is often overlooked in animal welfare, but WHY wants to change that. Join her mission – together, we can make a difference!

SpecialDogs e.V. stands for sustainable animal welfare at home and abroad – with a focus on Romania and Germany. In Romania, we pursue effective animal welfare through spay/neuter programs, education, political advocacy, and carefully selected adoptions. In Germany, we run the “New Start” project: here we take in dogs in need that would otherwise have no chance – animals that have already bitten or are facing euthanasia.

With 25 euro a dog is fed for a month, so we need 25 Teamers to feed one dog. Thomas' mission in life is to care for the needy animals in Nea Kallikratia / Greece. He feeds and cares for 140 dogs and other rescued animals on his secure property and he cares for at least 30 dogs and more than 60 cats on the streets in the region. He does not receive any financial support from the government or other institutions. He depends on donations to be able to continue his work.

Somos un refugio de animales en España, donde cuidamos a más de 700 animales abandonados, heridos y maltratados. Desde que llegan les ponemos el microchip, les damos atención veterinaria, comida. Hacemos todo lo posible para cuidar de cada uno de ellos y trabajamos duro para encontrarles nuevos hogares en España, Alemania, Finlandia, Suecia. Wir sind ein gemeinnütziger Verein der die rumänische Tierschützerin Magda Radu aus Giurgiu unterstützt. Wir führen in regelmäßigen Abständen Kastrationsprogramme in Rumänien durch. Diese stehen für uns mit an oberster Stelle, um der massenhaften Fortpflanzung der Hunde entgegen zu wirken und dadurch vielen Hunden das Leid auf der Straße zu ersparen. Die Versorgung der Tiere vor Ort hat höchste Priorität. Die Vermittlung unserer Hunde erfolgt in eine Pflegestelle und/oder Endstelle.

Stevie und ihr Partner leiten aktuell „noch“ privat ein kleines Hundesenioren-Hospiz. Die monatlichen Ausgaben für Futter- und Tierarztkosten für die derzeit 16 Hunde sind kaum stemmbar. Genau aus diesem Grund möchte ich hier eine Teaming-Gruppe gründen. Menschen mit so einem großen Herz müssen unterstützt werden. Und mit vielen Gruppenmitgliedern und somit den regelmäßigen Einmahmen, könnten WIR GEMEINSAM die Beiden sehr entlasten. Also bitte fasst euch ein Herz und gehört dazu. ❤️

After a long renovation, the first guest moved into the new hospice in January 2024. Lovingly designed, barrier-free single rooms, bright communal areas, a chapel, and views of nature create space for dignity, connection, and farewell. Hospice care is covered by health insurance, but 5% must be funded through donations. Additional donations support room design, cultural activities, bereavement care – and the egg liqueur on vanilla ice cream.

We rescue dogs from species-non - appropriate keeping, abuse and from killing stations. We help exactly where dogs are in need. Therefore we do not think in terms of national borders. With our small animal shelter in Hemmoor (Lower Saxony) we offer a first rescue station for dogs in need. Above all, we make sure through our mediation work that our dogs have a real chance of a happy life in a new home.
