Donate just one euro a month to help support our small rescue organisation. Not even the price of a cup of coffee! Donations will go towards vet bills, residence fees, food costs and towards other needs of the animals in our care or in our foster homes. AXARQUIA ANIMAL RESCUE is a registered charity in Southern Spain, run by volunteers and dedicated to saving lives and re-homing abandoned and abused animals. We have rescued and rehomed nearly 5,000 animals in the past 13 years and there are so many more that need our help. Our monthly kennel and vet bills are in the region of 5,000 euros a month, often more. We receive no government funding and rely on donations to enable us to continue our work. We need your help.

Funds raised will go directly to caring for the street cats of Canillas de Aceituno, a little village in the Axarquia region of Spain. With a small team I have neutered more than 500 cats over the past eight years. The Mayor has now taken over the costs of neutering, but I continue to feed over a hundred cats a day. I will also take sick cats to the vet for treatment or euthanasia. Where possible I will try to find homes for suitable cats.

Para quién recaudo dinero The 27th of August we started a project" rehoming feral kittens". This is now the third part!!In a small wooden house( now a shelter) i rehabilitate kittens till they get over , and thanks to all of you we find families and get the resources we need to pay all the expenses. Wonderful people helping together..we are now "a big family.

Please meet Blue Blue was rescued from an empty property . He was anxious, had liver problems contracted distemper and was very ill for a while . This is him fully recovered and happy This is what the retreat was established for - to rescue abandoned ,abused dogs and to find them new loving homes where possible . If the dog for whatever reason cant be re homed then their home is with us for the rest of their lives.

The Under Dog is run by Hayley and Lisa, who try their hardest to help cats and dogs in need. They foster many of the cats themselves and are incredibly grateful to also have Sölvi and Claudia, who kindly foster both cats and dogs. They also have dogs in paid kennels, which means ongoing monthly costs just to keep these animals safe. Their focus is on the animals that are so often overlooked—the difficult cases, the bigger dogs, the forgotten breeds, and those who are sick or need extra care.
