La mayoría de estos abueletes están en adopción y no nos cansamos de buscarles un hogar, otros por diversos motivos (caracter, tratamientos complicados..) preferimos cuidarlos nosotros. Ces Mutxamel es una Asociación de gatos de Mutxamel, Alicante que nació para poder ayudar a las colonias del pueblo. Poco a poco se fue ampliando y se constituyo en 2020. La labor de la Asociación es velar por los gatos en especial vulnerabilidad :gatos abandonados, gatos cachorros, gatos enfermos o atropellados, gatos que están abandonados por sus familias en las calles condenados a una muerte casi segura, porque un gato casero no sabe sobrevivir en la calles.
