Dear friends, my name is Cristiana, and for the past two years I have been taking care of a colony of cats stationed near the Porto Giunco beach in Villasimius. The costs for the management between food, dispensers, setting up the feeding points and petrol are very high, it is not possible to sustain them for one person alone if not with the help of many. To date 36 cats have been sterilised, but being in an open space there are constant new arrivals from the surrounding areas. The expenses for food alone amount to more than 200 euro per month. Cari Teamers, quest'inverno tanti piccoli traguardi sono stati raggiunti. Il Comune di Villasimius ha concesso un'aera dedicata, e ha fornito i cartelli per segnalare la presenza della colonia. Con l'aiuto di altri volontari abbiamo costruito una staccionata per separare la colonia dal parcheggio, e predisposto un'altra zona pappa al riparo da pioggia e sole con qualche nuovo dispenser. Abbiamo continuato le sterilizzazioni, a quota 36. Purtroppo abbiamo avuto anche delle perdite, il nostro amato Leone a Gennaio e Tigrotta il mese scorso. E naturalmente qualche nuovo arrivo. Le spese solo per il cibo ammontano a circa 200 euro al mese. Grazie per il vostro contributo.

Dear Teamers, many small goals have been achieved this winter. The Villasimius municipality has granted a dedicated area, and provided signs to mark the presence of the colony. With the help of other volunteers, we built a fence to separate the colony from the car park, and prepared another feeding area sheltered from rain and sun with some new dispensers. We continued the sterilisations, counting now 36 cats. Unfortunately we also had some losses, our beloved Leone in January and Tigrotta last month. And of course some new arrivals.
