Metabolic therapy trial on relapsed refractory tumors Phase 1-2: LuParPed

It is known that these two tumors have in common, in a high percentage of cases, the expression of somatostatin receptors. Because of this, metabolic therapy treatments can be employed that produce specific and direct damage to the DNA of the tumor cell. In our experience, such treatments are effective, but the effect is short. In the Pediatric Oncology Unit of HM Montepríncipe we have designed a clinical trial which consists of the combination of this metabolic therapy and a targeted therapy directed to increase DNA damage. By doing so, the DNA damage is enhanced and the tumor cell does not survive. It is a safe and effective treatment, with few side effects, which has already been successfully tested in adults with other tumors.
