GAB is an association that fights against the mistreatment and abandonment of the Ratonero Bodeguero Andaluz. This breed is used for hunting and when they are "no longer useful" they are abandoned. It is the same problem as with galgos and podencos, except that the bodegueros are not such a well known breed. The money raised goes directly to pay for the dogs' homes, which cost 100 euros per month per dog, plus countless veterinary expenses. Every euro counts to keep saving dogs.

Wir haben es uns zur Aufgabe gemacht - soweit es unsere Zeit zulässt - die Streunerkatzen in der Umgebung zu kastrieren bzw. ihre Nachkommen aufzunehmen und nach Quarantänezeit ein liebevolles für immer Zuhause zu suchen. Die meisten geretteten Galgos und Podencos befinden sich in einem kritischen Zustand, der tierärztliche Behandlungen von langer Dauer und hohen Kosten erfordert. Spanische Tiere in Not erhält keine öffentlichen Mittel oder Subventionen sondern finanziert sich ausschließlich von Spenden.

Animal welfare goes beyond national borders. Every animal deserves a chance at a dignified life. The association operates a shelter in Tunari, Romania. A maximum of 140 dogs can currently be taken in and cared for there. We take care of dogs that have had an accident or are in need, and we constantly rescue animals from the so-called killing-shelters. In addition, we support and organize castration campaigns and maintain a Germany-wide network of around 100 foster homes.
